This program gives young athletes a structured, active option through the winter months while their motor skills are developing quickly.

Sessions follow Long Term Athlete Development principles and use games and age appropriate tasks to develop speed, coordination, and fundamental movement skills. Coaches progress each athlete at an appropriate pace, with an emphasis on movement quality, participation, and enjoyment.

KEY TRAINING AREAS:

Speed and Coordination:
Game based activities that develop timing, rhythm, and body control.

Age-Appropriate Plyometrics:
Low intensity jumping and landing tasks that introduce elastic qualities and basic force management.

Multi-Directional Movement:
Lateral, diagonal, and transitional patterns that build agility and reactive capacity across all planes of motion.

Cognitive Development:
Decision-making and problem-solving embedded into every session through competitive, play-based formats.

Outcomes:

Athletes leave this program with improved movement quality, sharper coordination, and a stronger physical foundation to build on. More importantly, they leave with a positive relationship with training and physical activity that lasts well beyond the summer.

Youth Winter Athletic Foundation (Ages 8-10)

This program supports athletes who are in season as well as those between seasons.

Athletes in this age group learn complex motor skills readily. Sessions combine structured speed development, foundational strength training, and reactive decision making, with movement quality taking priority over movement speed. In season athletes focus on maintaining their physical qualities and managing workload. Off season athletes focus on building capacity.

KEY TRAINING AREAS

Plyometrics & Landing Mechanics:
Progressive single leg and double leg jumps, hops, and bounds that develop elasticity, coordination, and force absorption.

Multi-directional Speed:
Acceleration and movement efficiency across all directions, with reactive and decision based elements introduced gradually.

Agility, Deceleration & Change of Direction:
The full change of direction sequence, with attention to braking mechanics, positional balance, and reacceleration control.

Strength Training:
Fundamental movement patterns loaded progressively to support speed, control, and tissue resilience.

Outcomes:

Athletes maintain or improve speed and strength through their competitive season, show better movement quality under fatigue, and are well prepared for spring sport.

Junior winter athletic foundation (Ages 11-13)

This program is designed for athletes aged 14 and older who are ready for technical coaching and a higher training demand.

Training covers sprint mechanics, plyometric power, reactive agility, and strength development within a progressive structure. Session load is planned around the competitive calendar, so in season athletes can sustain performance while off season athletes can build physical capacity.

KEY TRAINING AREAS

Plyometrics and Landing Mechanics:
Progressive jumping and landing tasks that develop reactive strength and the ability to absorb and redirect force across single leg and double leg conditions.

Multi-Directional Speed:
Sprint mechanics, acceleration, and movement efficiency across all directions, with reactive and constraint based decision making included throughout.

Agility, Deceleration, and Change of Direction:
Entry mechanics, braking capacity, positional strength, and reacceleration trained as a connected sequence.

Strength Training:
Movement specific loading to develop force production and structural resilience under competitive demand.

Outcomes:

Athletes show measurable improvements in speed and movement efficiency, maintain their physical qualities through the competitive season, and begin spring with a strong base.
